The National Skill Training Institute ( NSTI) Ludhiana An ISO 29990:2010 Certified Institute, formerly called Advanced Training Institute (ATI) and Central Training Institute for Instructor (CTI) was established by Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate General of Employment and Training in 1963 primarily with the objective for the training of Crafts Instructors in different Engineering trades for Industrial Training Institute (ITI’s), Industrial establishment and also for developing skilled manpower for the Industries.
Subsequently in 1978 the activities of the Institute were expanded under the UNDP and ILO collaborated Advanced Vocational Training System (AVTS) to upgrade and up-date the skill and knowledge of serving industrial workers and technicians. To make it more effective the institute was upgraded and renamed as Advanced Training Institute in May 1982. The Institute is well equipped with basic amenities required for healthy training environment. It comprises of well equipped Workshop, Library, Audio-Visual Room, and Hostel for Trainees, Dispensary and club for indoor- outdoor games. Residential Complex for Staff is also constructed inside the Institute Campus.
